About Double Feature
Movie quizzes whose every answer was written twice, independently, and cross-checked before a single question was generated.
Where the answers come from
One dataset: a table of classic films with their directors, years and genres, the roll of
Best Picture winners across thirty ceremonies, and a small catalog of cinema firsts. Two
independent authors filled in every key blind and the copies were compared value by value:
77 of 77 agreed after surface differences were reconciled – and where the two candid answers
genuinely split (is No Country for Old Men a crime film or a thriller?), the site drops the
question rather than pick a side. Contested facts make rotten multiple-choice.
What the questions deliberately avoid
No box-office records (they change hands), no questions about films too recent to be
settled, and no quote banks – reproducing a page of famous lines is quotation by the pound,
and the titles and facts of record are all a quiz needs. Film titles appear here to refer to
the films themselves; no studio or brand is implied to endorse anything.
What playing costs you
Nothing: no account, no download, no tracking of your answers. Your best score per quiz is
stored in your own browser and nowhere else.
